Hitting the Ground Running…

Started working at around 730 this morning – finished at 8 tonight – and didn’t take any breaks – other than the one I used to start the pot of soup I made tonight. (Which was yummy, and more on that later). Because I didn’t do any email prep/sorting this weekend when I got home, I had a lot to get through today – so that took up most of my day. I got through the emails, and now I have the cases and the rest of my meetings and such to work through for the next few days. Busy busy busy!
Because the water heater was having a conniption, I worked from home today. With all the ins and outs of the workmen, the dogs were barking, whining and whinging constantly. It seriously was getting on my nerves by the end of the day. (Anyone want to buy a dog from E-bay?) Now that the workmen are gone, things have quieted down – but I’m still a bit ‘on edge’ when it comes to loud barky noises. I did opt for a bubble bath to try and relax – it helped some – I’ve unwound, and now I’m sitting back to review my day, plan tomorrow, and put off studying. (I have two chapters to read and a paper to finish before Friday morning…gah!)
And yes, the water heater is FIXED! (YAY!) It’s awesome – can fill the whole bath tub, and hopefully will save us some money – it’s one of the tankless heaters, which is new to us, but looks to be good for energy conservation.
Disney Recap…Friday
Charles and I took the day off, because we had a mid afternoon flight. I had a few errands to run Friday morning (Our packing was already pretty much done), and I needed to get my nails done. Can’t go see Mickey with an icky manicure! We left here around 3ish, and took Phin to Camp. Tink and Nikki were staying at home to keep the cats company. Uncle Tim was coming over to take care of them and check on the house. We got to the parking site, hopped the shuttle to the airport, checked our bags, and headed through security. Since we’ve traveled so much, we’re pretty ‘expert’ about it, so we go through the expert line. It’s generally quicker – and is pretty painless. I was a little interested to see if we’d be pulled out to be scanned, but that didn’t happen. We also didn’t get patted down – which was fine by me. (I don’t necessarily look forward to being groped by strange guys at the airport). We boarded on time, and ended up in Orlando a little ahead of schedule. I took my standard issue nap on the way down.
It didn’t take very long for our bags to be ready to be picked up at the baggage check. We grabbed them and headed over to Thrifty to get our rental car. That was pretty quick too – actually – I think that it works out for us to fly in on Friday night – everything goes pretty fast! Once we had the car packed up, we left the Airport and headed out on our way. Because we had no dinner plans or plans for the night – we decided to stop at WalMart and pick up the water/soda/toiletries that we’d need for the week. Wow, if that wasn’t just a little bit IN-Freakin-SANE! Apparently it’s just not a good idea to go to Walmart near the parks after they’ve closed for the night. (When there’s a tour bus in the parking lot, that’s NEVER a good sign…when there’s two…you don’t need anything on your shopping list!)
After the zoo…err Walmart, we headed to our first night hotel. We checked into our room, and crashed fairly early – it was a long travel day – and we were all excited about our day at Animal Kingdom on Saturday!
