Just go with it!

3 days in a row of blogging.

Worked at home today – spent most of it in meetings for our August conference – going over my one presentation, working through what needed to be changed, and trying to figure out what else I need to ‘get done’ before it gets here.  It’s really only a few weeks away – which is crazy close when you have so much to do!  But I’m pushing through, and I am truly enjoying it.  Which is what makes it worth it!

Ran out to pick up Savannah’s meds today – and stopped at WalMart on my way home to pick up some kitchen towels.  When I cleaned out the pie safe last night, anything that was in there was terribly stained – and most of it came from my old house – which means it’s ancient – and just needed to be replaced.

I’ve finished spring/summer cleaning the kitchen.  Tomorrow night, I plan on tackling the living room and getting it all organized and neatified.  Really, the ‘nesting’ is amusing, because it really doesn’t happen all that often – so I am hoping that the momentum keeps going.  Our poor cleaning lady is going to be REALLY confused when she shows up next week!  (No fear, I don’t plan on telling her we don’t need her anymore – I know me!)

In my RSS feeds tonight, a blog post came up that has me thinking – I think I’ve mentioned in the past few days that I think part of my problem is the fact that I have TOO many things on my list, and it becomes nearly paralyzing – I don’t know where to start.  Well, after reading this article I think I’ve made the right decision, to declare ‘amnesty’ from my to do list.  It really is liberating, and makes it possible for me to do things like scrub the counters in the kitchen! (Which was what I did tonight)

New recipe tonight – and it was ‘approved’ – so we’ll do it every once in a while.  For any steak that you are serving, to do a sauce with it, take a can of mushrooms, saute it with a little garlic in some olive oil.  Once they’re nicely browned, add half a container of french onion dip (my favorite, Helluva good) and 2T of half and half.  Stir it up and it will thicken after it boils.  Cook your steak the way you normally would, and serve this over it.  It works really well on potatoes too!   Like I said, I don’t plan on doing it that often, but it will be nice for a change every once in a while.

Also found a fun crafty blog tonight – will need to spend more time exploring it and seeing what there is to find there.  I heard about it on one of my scrapbooking pod casts that I’ve had ‘hoarded’ for a while.  It’s called “How About Orange” .  I haven’t done much with it yet – just flipped through it, but the first bunch of posts have really caught my eye. (And of course, I’ve added it to my immense RSS feed collection!)

Going to wrap things up for the night and go fold laundry.  In the meantime, can you tell me who I am, and what happened to Kellie?
