You know it’s been a while when…

Yikes!

Yes, I’ve not been all that good about the blogging this month.  It’s been busy around here ever since we brough Phin home, and work’s picked up some, so I just don’t feel like blogging much in the evenings, and my lunch time is spent running home to let the puppy out. (I’m not complaining, that’s a great break from the office, that I really NEED in the middle of the day).

I’ve got lots of new news however – so there will probably be a few posts today – (and I promise, not a drought afterwards!)

Had a bit of stickershock at the doctor earlier this month.  Things weren’t as far along as I thought they were, and it really hit me for a loop.  So, since I got kicked in the pants by my family doctor, I decided that it was time to get back on track and do the things I’m supposed to do.  I’ve started logging and writing down everything that I’ve eaten for the past few weeks, have really tried sticking to my plan, and have made some success.  I’ll get there, but I know it’s going to be slow.  This past week was difficult, and I’ve misbehaved some, and saw immediate feedback on the scale.  I know what I need to do, and have the motivation to do it.  I’m also working through the feelings that I have related to food (writing down what I’m thinking and feeling when I eat what’s not on my plan) in order to identify the triggers that I have, and hopefully work through them so they’re not a problem anymore.

I’ve also been packing my lunch every day – it saves me temptation in the cafeteria, calories that seemingly glue themselves to my butt, and money.  I also headed back to the gym. (One day so far, but it’s more than it has been!)  I’m trying to stay motivated – I have a few mini goals in mind, and I’m determined to get there!  I know I can do it, I just have to make myself do it.

This past weekend, Charles and I headed up to West Virginia (West Pajama!) to visit with Mom, Dad, Dan, Jill, and the girls.  We took Phinny, who had his first VERY long car ride.  I must say, it went pretty well. (The car ride)  He cried a little bit when we first left, but then we stopped for gas, and put him in his crate on the back seat, and he spent the rest of the ride curled up sleeping.  He would get out and potty when we did, and pretty much had a good ride.  I am proud of him – the two days we were at Mom and Dad’s, he didn’t have one inside accident (other than a fear piddle on the tile on the back porch when he was meeting Mom for the first time)   The visit itself was nice – I wish Dan and Jill lived closer – because I really enjoy hanging out with them.  They’re both such interesting people.  Heck, I just wish we all lived closer together, because it’s nice to be in a healthy family environment.  (Definitely not what I’m used to some times!)

We’re gearing up for our trip to Yellowstone in 3 weeks. (Wow, is it that close already?)  I’m excited.  I am eager to get out with my new ubah camera, and take some fun pictures of a really beautiful place.  Charles is busy planning our routes around the Park, and deciding what we’ll hike/walk to, and what we’ll drive to see.  I’m a bit worried about my foot, but so far, I haven’t had many problems with it.  I will make sure that I pack all the stuff I’ll need, and think positive, this WILL be okay!  I’m trying to figure out what we can do for Charles’ birthday.  We’ll be with RaeLynn and Marty on the big day, so hopefully we can put something fun together.  I’ll figure something out!

Have spent some time upstairs recently.  Did some rearranging and re-decorating. (I LOVE IKEA :) )  Photos of the new studio to come.

Well, I promise, I’ll post more often – now that I have a routine going :)
