I am a CLICK convert!

On the ObesityHelp.com boards (a great reference for bariatric patients), folks have been talking about something called ‘Click’.  Singing the praises of how awesome this protein/espresso/mocha mix is.  How great it tastes, how good it blends, and how much of a treat it is.  I just shrugged it off as something I didn’t really need to try – but man, have I been missing something good!  Since I’m back on track now, I have been going through at least one protein shake a day – trying to get close to my protein goal, and having fun trying different things. (My favorite has been vanilla Jay Robb and SF gingerbread torani).  Well, the recent sale prices for Click made it even more interesting, so I decided last week to try it.  (I was sure that if I didn’t like it, there were all kinds of folks at OH who would buy it off me).

Well, there’s no worry about that!

I ordered the product last Monday when I was off.  I was pleased with the ease of using the website, and glad to see that they offered payment options not only with a credit card, but through PayPal.  (I prefer to use PayPal the first time I order from a site I don’t know very well, just to have the extra layer of ‘security’)  I found out afterwards, that you can also order Click at Amazon, the price is a little more, but since we have Amazon Prime and get free shipping, I may go there for it in the future.  You just have to wait a little longer because it’s not always in stock.  (We’ll see just how addicted to it I am at the time I need to reorder!)

This shipment came with a free shaker cup.  It’s the kind that I like -with the blender ball.  The folks that have posted on OH have said that it comes in handy, and really helps to make the shake smooth and break up the lumps. (That’s the part of the blender ball cup that I love – NEVER have any chunks of protein powder to deal with!)

So, I decided last night, I would treat myself to a shake made with Click.  I did a little bit of web searching, and found a list of protein shakes from one of the regular posters on OH. (Cleopatra_Nik is her name – shakes are her game!)  I decided to try her Click “Frappucino”, and Oh. My. Goodness.  It is definitely a little bit of heaven in a shaker cup!

Click Frappuchino

  • 2 scoops Click Mocha espresso protein
  • 8 oz skim milk
  • 1 T SF/FF chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 T SF Hazelnut syrup
  • Crushed ice

Put all together in a shaker cup and shake.  Pop in a straw, and enjoy!

See how easy that is?    Let me tell you, the nom factor on this one is high!  There’s a fair bit of protein in here too for a snack – and the carbs are pretty low. (Those are the things that I personally track, ymmv for other stats).  I won’t do this for a meal replacement, because it’s a bit too low in protein for me – but for a treat/snack, oh heck yes!   The mocha flavor is awesome.  I was a bit confused about the pudding, but I found that it thickens it up nicely, and gives it that creamy ‘shake’ texture that your brain wants.  Next time I try this, I’ll dig out the immersion blender and try chopping it up that way with the ice.  That may make it different. (Or make a huge mess, it’s hard to tell with me!)    I didn’t really taste the hazelnut torani over the strong espresso flavor – but that may just be me.  Next time I make it, I’m going to use raspberry torani to see what that does to it.

As Melting Mama says – this one is definitely ‘pouch worthy’.

For me – it’s a treat that makes Polly happy!
