Post

The week started off with a lot of rain, a really cool day, and a heck of a lot of frustration due to people who just don’t seem to ‘get it’.  You’re told to do something, just DO it…there are reasons for it, even if you don’t understand or agree with them.  (And uh, trying to make me look bad?  Ain’t gonna work when you’re leaving a trail of bad news behind you)

Anyway – had a fairly busy day – Charles stayed home today,  since he had a dentist appointment this afternoon – he decided to work from home instead of driving into his office, and then turning around and driving home.  That really helps me out, because the trip home and back in the middle of the day really throws me for a loop.  I can get it done in my hour that’s allotted, but it generally gets me out of my ‘groove’, and makes it harder for me to get back into the swing of things.  (Although, the puppy kisses when I get home – well, it’s worth it, that’s for sure!)  Later this week, I may have to go on site with part of a project team to visit one of my clients.  I’m hoping that I get to go, because I truly want to meet the team, as well as help them get to the bottom of the questions that they have about the application.  (Widgetworld Software isn’t the easiest thing to understand at times, but they’ve got a good team to help them – we just have to figure out what they need first).

Tonight, I did a few loads of wash, watched a movie with Charles, and straightened up the house a bit.  Spent some time playing with the puppy, and worked on planning my day for tomorrow.  I’ll have another busy one at the office – and photography class is tomorrow night, so I won’t get home until WAY late.

Tried a new protein shake today – yesterday on my way to Frances’ house, I picked up some Body Fortress Cookies n’ Creme Whey protein at WalMart. (I swear, people look at me funny when they see me carrying around stuff that’s normally for body builders!)  I had my first dose of it this morning – doctored up of course.  It was pretty good!  I mixed a scoop of it with 8 oz of soy milk, and 1T of chocolate SF Torani, and 1T of peppermint SF Torani, and some ice, and had myself a liquid Thin Mint Girlscout cookie. (NOM!)    The stats on it are pretty good too. (Mixed with 8oz soy milk)  220Cal,  33g Protein,  10 g Carb.  I’ll definitely put it into the rotation.   I have been trying to ‘mix things up a bit’ because I’m getting bored with just the plain old Vanilla Jay Robb stuff (although I LOVE it!)  It’s just nice to have something to look forward to in the morning – instead of the same old same old.  Tomorrow is another new trial – not sure how it’s going to go – but we’ll see!  (Lemon Merengue Pie – 8oz milk, 1 packet SF CL Lemonade, 1T vanilla SF Torani).  I’ll report back on how that one turns out.  I have high hopes for it!

It’s hard to believe that tomorrow starts a new month.  And that there’s only 3 weeks left in the summer.  (Equinox is on 9/22 this year).  Time goes by SO fast.  But I guess it’s because I’ve got my head down so much, and don’t take a lot of time to just enjoy what I see around me.  That’s one thing that I do like about spending time with my camera – I find that lately, I’m more observant of the world around me – even just the simple things.  I noticed yesterday, that some of the trees in the woods behind our house are starting to turn colors already – and it’s starting to get ‘fallish’ – at least to me.  The mums at the grocery store were another dead give away. (Although I am really trying to ignore the Christmas stuff I’m starting to see already – give me a break!!)

Charles has our trip to Yellowstone pretty much planned out.  Tonight we watched a Travel Channel show on the parks, and got a few more ideas, so we added that into our itinerary.  I’m really getting excited about the trip – and today, started with my ‘famous’ list making.  It’s not that big yet – but it will grow.  Only 25 more days until we leave!  (Since I can’t sing the X more days, until we see Mickey Mouse song…., I guess I’ll need to make up new words!)
