Wow…what a day.

It would be an understatement to say that I hit the ground running today.  I knew that it was going to be a busy one, but I really had no idea it was going to turn out like it did.

Yet another day under the bus – thaknyouvery much.  *sigh*  One of these days things will go well and I won’t feel like I got beaten up by lions when I get home (or stop working) for the day!   Oh well, it is what it is, and I survived, which is the important part.  I also got a lot accomplished today, which for a day like I had is quite the accomplishment!

There are some things that just annoy the snot out of me.  One of them is people who think that they belong at the front of the line all the time.  I had to deal with a client that not only assumed that their issues were the only ones I needed to work on today, but that it was quite alright for them to call my manager (twice – while she was in back to back meetings), and when she didn’t get answers there, she called HR – not only once, not twice, but THREE times.  The thing of it is, by the time she made THOSE calls, I was already in her system working on all the issues that they had open with us.  Really, it just drove me absolutely batshit.  I didn’t say or do anything that I shouldn’t have, but it was pretty damn hard for me to hold my tounge the one time I did speak with her.  (I’m also really glad that there was not a brick wall beside my desk!)  At the end of the day, I had a conversation with my primary contact for that agency, who was just completely flabbergasted  that the day happened the way that it did.  She felt absolutely horrible that someone she works with would treat anyone (let alone me!) that way.   Hopefully we’ll be able to patch everything up, or else this is going to be a very difficult professional relationship to work with.

Needless to say I was very glad to wrap up the day!  Tonight, we’ll do the chores we have to do, then curl up to watch House on DVR, and then eventually collapse for the night, just in time to get up and do it all over again tomorrow.  (Really…who said these days could go as quickly as they could?)

I wasn’t able to do my kidney function test today.  I was getting ready to start it, and decided to take one final read over the directions so I didn’t miss anything, and I noticed one important point.  If I’m taking any kind of medications with a Vitamin C supplement in it, I can’t do the test because it will throw off the results.  Soooo since I know that my Bariatric Fusion vitamins have all sorts of things in them, I decided to check out the label, and lo and behold….vitamin C – and the 4 tablets I take every day puts me over the limit for the number of mgs I can have a day of vitamin C added to my diet.  So, I need to stop taking my vitamins for the day, and after 5 days, I’ll be able to do the test.  So, that puts me at about Sunday – since I’ll have to drop it in a FedEx box the next day. (Really, I am so never handling a Fed Ex box again!)

I had my new chicken salad today for lunch, and WOW was it yummy!  It is most definitely going to go into my frequent rotation for lunches.  It was good with a few Ritz Crackers.  (Nom Nom Nom).   Here goes the share!

Sweet and Chunky Chicken Salad (Courtesy the HungryGirl)

  • 4 1/2 ounces cooked skinless lean chicken breast, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 c chopped cucumber (I used a regular cucumber from the grocery store)
  • 1/3 c red seedless grapes, halved
  • 1/3 c chopped apple (I used a honeycrisp)
  • 1/4 c plain fat-free yogurt
  • 2 T fat free mayo
  • 1 no-calorie sweetner packet (splenda)
  • 1/4 t lemon pepper seasoning (Mrs Dash)
  • pinch salt

In a bowl, mix the yogurt, mayo, sweetner, lemon pepper seasoning, and salt.    Stir in chicken, cucumbers, grapes, apples, and mix well.    I put it in the fridge overnight and then had with some Ritz Crackers.   It is REALLY yummy!
