Home again home again jiggity jig. And I am SO glad to finally be in one place for the forseeable future! The trip to New York was productive, and I’ll have some feedback for the meetings that are scheduled for next week, as well as some plans for things that we can do going forward. But I am REALLY glad to be home with my family. Right now, I’m laying in bed with Charles, and the little dogs, and Nikki’s curled up nearby. That’s the best part about coming home – being with the family
We have some plans for the weekend – tomorrow is our farmer’s market and shopping day – and then I’ll be working on unpacking and doing my laundry from the week. I’ll also finally finish listening to my lecture from earlier this week – and get that all taken care of before the end of the weekend. (Another good thing about staying in one place – I won’t miss my lectures!)
Today was a pain in the butt travel day. I honestly have no idea how Delta says they have on time departures – unless they’re looking at the actual time they pull away from the gate. Everything on the monitors was ‘on time’, but we got boarded and ready to go, and didn’t leave the ground for an hour and 15 minutes after we were SUPPOSED to. I honestly think they add an hour or so to the flight time, to make room in the schedule for these goofy delays. It was even worse because I couldn’t get to my cell phone to call home and tell Charles about the delay issues – because silly me, thought I wouldn’t NEED my phone, and left it in my bag in the overhead. (And they wouldn’t let me get up to get it) Now, that part I understand because we were taxiing on the runway.
But I’m home – had a date with my husband, and playtime with my puppies, and all is good
Auntie Teffie sent the kids A HUGE box of toys when she found out Penny was coming to live with us. Charles waited for me to get home so I could open it with them – and oh my – that was great fun! Penny and Phin were all wiggly and excited, and Penny could barely contain herself – to the point she actually jumped in the box! I have some good pictures of it – they’re all on Facebook, but I’ll make sure to post some here later this weekend.
There have been lots of ‘tussles’ over the hedgies and the squirrels – it’s quite funny actually – there are three of each – and there were many trade offs – Penny would put one down, Phin would come take it, she’d pick one up, he’d come for another, she’d go steal his, and on and on and on. They’re getting along pretty well – which is a good thing – because we were worried earlier this week when we brought her home and there were lots of snarlies going on.
So, now that I’m home, I can get back to eating real food, healthy food, and on Monday, head back to the gym. (YAY!) I honestly can’t wait for that one
It’s been since before Panama that I could go – and well, that’s been entirely too long in my opinion. I miss the group – and I actually miss the activity. (Who am I, and what did I do with lazy me?)
Will be back on the daily writing cycle tomorrow too – I’ve missed blogging – along with my daily doodling – it’s been hard to do any of that – because of being on the road so much, and I didn’t pack my journal or pens for this trip. I did take them to Vegas, but well, I didn’t have much time to doodle then either.
I was planning on writing all about the Vegas trip and the aftermath – but honestly, it’s throwing good energy after bad, and I just don’t want to deal with it – especially since things seem to be looking up (for now). And well, I have happy puppies who love me and it’s fun to be home to play with him.
Well, I’m going to go snuggle with the Pack – I’ve missed them – and now that Penny’s burnt out her puppy energy for the night, and she’s sleeping so peacefully – I want to go snuggle with her. (And my sweet husband!)
Much love to all. Keep light in your heart!

Well, here I am – 3rd hotel in three weeks. I’m SUCH the world traveler. I’m on site with a client this week to help them get to the bottom of some performance issues – so I’m hanging out on Long Island while we work through things. ( I think we’re close to a solution, but I’m here till Friday morning regardless).
Haven’t written much for the past week or so – I’ve either been dealing with a lot of emotional fall out from the whole Vegas thing, or I’ve been sick as a dog. Neither of them was much fun – that’s for sure! But now, I’m back in a good place, and actually have some things to write about.
Last Thursday, Charles came home and brought up that he had seen a corgi mix puppy that needed a home – she’d been hit by a car, and was in a pretty bad state of affairs. Well, I just needed to take one look at her picture, and I REALLY wanted her. (She’s THAT cute!) So, we found out that she was still available, and unfortunately, had to have her leg amputated – but she was available for adoption. Knowing that she was hurting didn’t change our opinion of things at all. So, Saturday morning, we got up, drove to Lynchburg Virginia, and picked up our new baby.
Meet Penny!
We’re not sure exactly how much corgi she is – she’s long like a doxie, and has the doxie head – but long legs like a chihuahua. She’s quite a love bug, and is very feisty when it comes to the other dogs. Once she starts feeling better, she’ll fit in just fine. We had a scare with her last night – she hadn’t been eating, hadn’t been really energetic, and Charles was concerned she was in bad shape. Thankfully, she felt up to eating this morning, and is safely ensconced in her Penny Pen (TM) in the kitchen – which keeps her in sight of the other dogs, and gives her more room to move around. Hopefully that will help her settle in more.
Tonight, I’ll be working on grading some papers – and working on a few other outstanding things from today’s sessions. I am beat, because I didn’t sleep all that well last night, so I’m hoping to turn in fairly early and get some good rest as well. I can tell you, I’m glad I don’t travel as much as our implementation folks do – I could NEVER be away from home this much!

Had a productive day today. Surprising – since I cannot breathe! Taught for 5 hours today and did a lot of talking. My voice is a bit worn out. But it is.okay. tomorrow we are heading to Virginia to pick up the newest addition to our family. I have been wanting a Welsh corgi for a while, and we decided that unless we ran into a dog that really needed a home. We would hold off until one of our current kids passedon. Well Charles was browsing Petfinder the other day and saw sn urgent post for a puppy that had been hit by a car and needed some help. It was love at first sight! We called the shelter who told us that they could not save her leg, but they expected her to recover completely from her other injuries. Shes about 5 months old and is so dang cute. We are not going to call her Lexus but since she is a cute reddy brown, we will call her Penny. No doubt this is going to be harder puppy wise than Phinny, but it is worth the effort to rescue someone who needs help. I sm sure there will be lots of stories and photos to come! For now however, I am gonna go crash for the night.

Well, it has most definitely been an interesting few weeks. Panama with the family, which was awesome. Vegas with the girls, not so awesome – awesome in spurts, but disappointing in spurts.
Women can be a hot mess sometimes, yanno that? I’m so glad I went – because I got to meet my soul sister Jaime – we had a great time together, and are so very sure that we’ll be getting together again in the future. (I love having a built in tour guide for Crater Lake!) Meeting Liz didn’t go so well, and afterwards, there is/was/has been SO much drama afterwards, lots of hurt feelings, and entirely too many nasty words being thrown around. Our little ‘family’ has completely fallen apart – and we’re in the process of trying to pick up the pieces – it will all work out, and well, I can honestly say, even though it didn’t work out very well – and things imploded – I wouldn’t change it. It taught me about who my friends are – and what I want in my life and what’s around me. It also has shown me that things are not always how they seem – and people are pretty darn good at hiding their true selves to get what they want from you.
And that’s all I’m going to say about that – because – well, it’s just not worth the energy – and I am putting it all in the fuckit bucket.
Had my first release training session today – and got a LOT of great feedback on the content and delivery, as well as just a FEW questions to follow up on.
And I’ve got two more training days to go! I believe I’m going to be busy for a while. I’ll be on site with a client next week, so I’m hoping to get a lot of these started tomorrow – and begin to get the answers that we need before I head out of town.
Tomorrow, I’ll be making a big ole pot of Oxtail soup – (Crockpot for the win) Will also be working on my next paper – which is due Saturday. (Weird due date, but it is what it is).
Closing things down for the night, want to read some.
Much love!

Today was my trip home. (YAY!) I’m home, and trying to relax so I can curl up and fall asleep. So much happened this weekend that it’s hard to process. Have found some things, and lost others – and hopefully will be able to figure out what it all means.
Right now, I”m going to go back to curling up with the family.
And hope that tomorrow brings some peace.

Today, it seems like all of humanity is out on the Strip. TO say I’m overwhelmed is an understatement. Have some things brewing I need to figure out how to deal with – so I’m just going to keep to myself for a bit.

Sometimes you can just be too hurt to string words together.
So you just don’t.
I’ll write later.

Our first day in Vegas was awesome. We walked down to the Strip and wandered around a bit – did some gambling and shopping, and basically had a great time exploring. (Got terribly lost again on the hunt for dinner!)
We are seriously missing Stephie though. But next time we all get together, she’ll be there with us!
